'Life under Lockdown' documents life with the Hassebroek family as they navigate the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brooklyn. The project started March of 2020, when New York issued stay at home orders, closing schools, offices and non essential businesses due to the severity of the outbreak of COVID-19. Like many parents, Naomi and Doug needed to balance working from home with helping their children attend remote school. All of the family took turns watching Felix, the youngest who at 3, was too young for remote learning. The family's sense of suspended reality and isolation, punctuated by moments of joy, worry, laughter, and frustration is a narrative that mirrors experiences felt by many throughout the pandemic.
